$2,000 from the Countywide Friends of the Library, Inc., a 1099-NEC form needs to be filed with the
IRS. In previous years, a 1099-NEC form needed to be filed for amounts of $600 or more to a
        vendor.
    3. Treasurer Report
      1. The Treasurer’s Report reflects YTD November 2025 financial statements.

  1. Unfinished Business
    1. Handbook Distribution – Reference Copies
      1. Updated copies of the handbook were distributed to those who were present. Individuals not
present will receive their copies in the courier. Other libraries in the state of Florida who are
interested, can receive a copy of the handbook as well.
      2. The handbook is a working document, so revisions and updates can be made moving forward.
It was suggested to include a link onto the Countywide Friends webpage, so a redacted version
of the handbook can be accessed at anytime, anywhere.
    2.  Scholarships/Service Awards
      1. The Land O’ Lakes Library is modeling from other branches that have started volunteer scholarships
and awards. The Hudson Library has an established program and will share information and ideas
with Robert Speich. Each branch is also encouraged to share their ideas, which can be advertised as
        a group effort.
    3.  Giving Day (Thanks and Video):
      1. The School Board has asked Libraries to assist low-ranked schools with book donations.
Chester Taylor Elementary took priority for the first round of donations, being the school
        has an F-rating.
      2. Giving Day was a success (video of the event was generated and shared) – with 20 boxes of
new and gently used book being donated to the school. The Pasco County School Board
Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Principal of Chester Taylor Elementary
School are very appreciative for the giving event.
      3. Other low-ranked schools in Pasco County will have the opportunity to have books donated
        as well.
    4. Advocacy Opportunities
      1. It is encouraged to let the Countywide Friends know of any upcoming events, to help provide
        opportunities for advocacy.
    5. Other
      1. The Pasco County Library webpage will be undergoing updates soon. It was suggested for
individual Friends of the Library groups share their meeting dates, so they can be included on the
Pasco County Libraries website/calendar. Information can be forwarded to the Branch Manager, or
        to Robert Speich.

  1. New Business
    1. Giving Day Part Two – Fox Hollow Elementary
      1. Pasco Libraries reached out to Fox Hollow Elementary (a D-rated school), to host a book donation
day for the students. The date for Giving Day will be coordinated with the school Principal.
    2. Love Your Library Month Resolution and Thanks
      1. The Friends would like to take this month as an opportunity to address the Board of County
Commissioners and express their appreciation for the support and approvals received.
      2. The resolution is planned to be presented at the February 17, 2026, BOCC Meeting, in the
West Pasco Government Center Boardroom, in New Port Richey (time is to be
        determined).
